What to expect

Chiropractors are specialists in manual adjustment of the vertebrae of the spine and other joints including TMJ and joints of the arms and legs. Adjustment helps relieve pain and restore normal functioning to the spine, joints and supporting structures of the body — so you can enjoy your everyday activities again as quickly as possible.

For many people who come to our office in Nipawin, it’s the first time they’ve received chiropractic care and they don’t know what to expect. Here is what a typical appointment looks like.

1.

Before you arrive

Before you come into the office, you’ll receive a health history form via email to fill out. This document will give us a better idea of how to manage your specific condition.

At the office

After you check in at the front desk and are taken to a treatment room, Dr. Curtis will conduct a thorough history and focused physical exam. Physical exam would include range of motion, neurological and orthopedic testing.

It’s common for people to be sore post-adjustment; depending on the nature of your treatment, Dr. Curtis will recommend at-home care such as heat and ice. He may also recommend follow-up stretches or exercises if that’s beneficial for your issue.
